This paper reports a single case study of counselling a 50-year-old woman refugee newly arrived and evacuated from Afghanistan in the August 2021 crisis. It utilised a faith-based therapeutic model of Islamic counselling. The experience and lessons learnt gained from the case are discussed and concluded with our assessment on the significance of Islamic counselling in working with Afghan refugees within the context of late modernity.
