Systematic review protocol outlines methods to evaluate LLM agents in software architecture, establishing search strategies to guide evidence synthesis.
Protocol for a systematic literature review characterising the state ofthe art of LLM-based agents applied to software design and architecture, from two perspectives: the software engineering tasks addressed and theinternal architecture of the agents. The review follows Kitchenham andCharters (2007) with a hybrid search strategy and iterative snowballing(Wohlin, 2014), and is compatible with the PRISMA 2020 workflow. The search string was frozen on 10 July 2026 after achieving 100%sensitivity against a quasi-gold standard of 15 studies. This record is deposited before the screening phase begins. Subsequentamendments are published as new versions of this same record, preservingthe complete version history.
