Caring∼Web© was developed to provide Web-based, in-home support and education for caregivers of persons with stroke during the first year after hospitalization. The purpose of this article is to describe how the educational needs of survivors of stroke and their caregivers were identified and how this information that these individuals sought was developed into an educational Tip of the Monthcomponent for Caring∼Web©. A survey consisting of 49 health-care topics, framed within Orem's (2001) universal self-care requisites, was completed by a convenience sample of 28 registered nurses to identify what they thought were the most frequent teaching needs for survivors of stroke and their caregivers. The top 12 topics reported were used to create educational Tips of the Monthon Caring∼Web©.
