This paper speaks to the generative capacities of research more generally and the biological economies process specifically. It highlights the importance of being disruptive and critical while avoiding the traps of structuralist paranoia that keep one from seeing and doing difference. It also seeks to move through, rather than beyond, conventional understandings of value, to include emergent practices, relationships and more‐than‐representational knowledge. In total, it is a rather wild piece about N ew Z ealand biological economies scholarship, in terms of how certain performances are made strange, become altered and lead to the enactment of novel states of becoming.
