Why the study?
To present a case of prolonged fever of unknown origin where 18F-FDG PET/CT detected Dressler syndrome following minimally invasive surgical mitral valve repair.
18F-FDG PET/CT can be a useful diagnostic tool for identifying Dressler syndrome in patients presenting with fever of unknown origin after cardiac surgery.
Hypothesis-generating for PET/CT in post-mitral-repair FUO; should not yet change diagnostic practice.
