This research investigated the use of high spatial resolution (0.7 × 0.7 m) metric multi‐band aerial photography to measure biophysical parameters in a smooth cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora) wetland in the ACE Basin Natural Estuarine Research Reserve in South Carolina. The near‐infrared band in addition to selected vegetation indices (simple ratio, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, Soil‐adjusted Vegetation Index) were highly correlated with total above‐ground dry biomass, leaf‐area‐index, and chlorophyll a and b content.
