Clinical assessments and rhinomanometric evaluations were performed in 143 consecutive cystic fibrosis (CF) patients ranging in age from 4 to 40 years (mean, 18.8). Nasal stuffiness, the most common symptom, correlated strongly with polyposis; however, nasal airflow resistance (NR) was not correlated with the incidence of polyps. Diminished NR was found in many CF patients, in 57 of them NR was < 1.0 cm H 2 O/L/sec (Pa/cm 3 /sec × 10), and was associated with impaired pulmonary function (p = 0.001).
