Key Points

Identify and evaluate mathematical constants derived from the Antikythera mechanism gear ratios and assess their alignment with astronomical cycles and the E8 root system.
Extracted gear ratios representing primary astronomical cycles from the Antikythera mechanism.
Assigned mathematical constants corresponding to the Metonic cycle (19 years) and the Saros cycle (223 lunations).
Referenced the golden ratio (phi = 1.618) to cross-check mechanical gear ratios against the geometric structure of the E8 root system.
The mechanical gear ratios approximate the 19-year Metonic cycle and the 223-lunation Saros cycle.
The golden ratio constant (phi = 1.618) serves as a benchmark for correlating Antikythera gear parameters with the E8 root system.

Abstract

constant metonic_cycle_years = 19 — Antikythera mechanism gear ratio approximates the Metonic cycle of 19 years constant saros_cycle_lunations = 223 — Antikythera mechanism gear ratio approximates the Saros cycle of 223 lunations constant phi = 1.618 — golden ratio referenced for cross-checking Antikythera gear ratios against E8 root system Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
