SUMMARY Monte Carlo computations were used to calculate the backscattered and secondary electron intensity profiles associated with a gold slice and gold cube in an aluminium matrix. The gold slice in an aluminium matrix was produced experimentally and the theoretical profiles show good agreement with the experimental profiles.
