A simple relationship between the two spherical bases |nλm〉 and $|nlm〉$ is presented and is used to deduce the relative parity and the large-n behavior of the former. Approximate energy levels obtained in these bases from perturbation theory are compared with the eigenvalues obtained by diagonalizing the first-order perturbation matrix.
