Why the study?
Does body position affect ECG values in anesthetized cats?
Does body position affect ECG values in anesthetized cats?
Body position (lateral vs sternal) has minimal effect on ECG values in anesthetized cats, providing reference data for multiple leads.
Supports flexible ECG positioning in anesthetized cats; extends reference data but leaves open clinical validation.
SUMMARY The values from ecg leads I, II, III, aV F , rV 2 , V 2 , V 4 , and V 10 were recorded from cats given ketamine and acepromazine. The recordings were made with the cats in right lateral and sternal recumbent positions. Position had minimal effects. The data were compared with published values and included new data on leads rV 2 , V 2 , and V 4 .
