The ‘Olympus’ strawberry ( Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) was released in November, 1973, by Washington State University for the processing industry of the Pacific Northwest. It is comparable to the industry standards, ‘Northwest’ and ‘Hood’, in processing quality, and has consistently produced higher yields than these cultivars. Its high yield in a single harvest and easy calyx removal make it worthy of trial for mechanical harvesting. ‘Olympus’ was named for the highest peak in Olympic National Park, Washington.
