α,ω-Aliphatic glycol extenders ranging in methylene group content from 2 to 12 were reacted with a 2000 M̅n poly-∈-caprolactone diol and 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate to prepare thermoplastic polyurethanes. The glycol extenders had the greatest effect on compression set, modulus and glass transition temperature, Tg. The best overall properties were obtained when 1,3-propanediol, 1,10-decanediol, and 1,12-dodecanediol were used as extenders.
