In reporting the second approximation calculation of the geomagnetic field solar wind interface (D. B. Beard, J. Geophys. Res., 67: 477-83(1962)) an error was in sign in equation 20 owing to a change in notation during the calculation. Effects of the correction on the calculation are detailed. (W.D.M.)
