The meshfree method is a widely used discretization approach in peridynamic modeling, but it suffers from unsatisfactory accuracy and convergence due to its rough domain integration. To address this issue, we propose a novel three-dimensional ordinary state-based peridynamic (OSB-PD) model in this paper, called consistent ordinary state-based peridynamics (C-OSB-PD). The proposed model adopts a new cell-formed horizon instead of the original spherical one to ensure horizon consistency, resulting in more accurate elastic properties and reduced errors. Additionally, the implementation of the proposed method requires only minor modifications to the existing computational process. Multiple numerical examples demonstrate that C-OSB-PD remarkably improves accuracy and achieves good convergence without incurring any extra computational cost. Moreover, the proposed method is highly robust, providing consistent results with varying horizons.
