A generalized renormalization-group method, capable of calculating the excitation properties of many-body impurity Hamiltonians, has been recently proposed. Here, to test the method, photoemission spectra for a simple metal with a structureless conduction band are computed. More accurate than those produced by previous renormalization-group calculations, the results agree well with the analytical expression of Tanabe and Ohtaka for the prefactor of the Doniach- {S} {S}{}unji {c} \'{c}{} power law. Practical aspects of extending the calculation to more complex Hamiltonians are discussed.
