This article is an overview of a more substantial study, which sought to analyse the contemporary evidence for spiritual awareness and tangible practice within healthcare in the United Kingdom. Whilst acknowledging the multi‐cultural nature of society, it is written from a nursing and mainly Christian perspective in respect of religious references.
