Ground based, aircraft and satellite measurements of stratospheric NO 2 are examined to establish the long term temporal trend in the column amount. Observations at 40° and 70° latitude in both hemispheres show a consistent annual cycle but no long term trend is observed in the period from 1975 to 1986.
