An inelastic neutron scattering experiment on liquid argon at 120K shows that the propagation gap in the sound dispersion curve, previously observed at 20, 115, 270 and 400 bar, has disappeared at 850 bar in agreement with a molecular dynamics experiment on a Lennard-Jones fluid at a corresponding state. The sound dispersion curves are similar to those observed in glasses.
