Hypersensitivity to Dysaphis plantaginea (Pass.) was investigated in progenies of Mains robusta and five other hypersensitive Malus species. MAL 59/9, a M. robusta derivative, was shown to carry a single dominant gene for hypersensitivity, the symbol Sm h is suggested.
