Lorentz transmission electron microscopy has been used to observe the domain structure in thin (1000-2000 Å) magnetoplumbite crystals of basal orientation. Although poor magnetic contrast is obtained, because of the low saturation magnetization of this ferrite, the observed domain configurations are in agreement with a Kittel free pole model. An estimate of the domain wall width is obtained from the Foucault images as 250 ± 150 Å.
