A model of particle electrocodeposition on a rotating cylinder electrode was developed to predict the incorporated particle volume fraction in a composite film. Asymptotic solutions to the transport equations for ions within the diffusion boundary layer showed that diffusion of the reactive species in a supporting electrolyte solution is the dominant process to carry current at the cathodic surface. The ratio of the total volume of particles to that of the deposited metal was expressed as a function of two transport parameters, current density, a probability to determine the particle surface concentration, and two experimental fitting parameters.
