Microinstabilities in semiconductor plasmas with dc magnetic and electric fields being applied perpendicular to each other are considered. Two-stream and resistive-type instabilities are discussed. For an example of the typical parameters of InSb, it is shown that a resistive-type growing wave can be excited in the microwave frequency range. The analysis includes the effect of the electron-lattice and hole-lattice scatterings and that of the thermal velocity of the particles involved.
