The concept of intrinsic blood pressure was formulated and measured in 84 subjects, suggesting it can define states like shock, congestive failure, and hypertension.
Should not yet change practice; leaves open whether intrinsic blood pressure unifies vascular state definitions.

It is concluded that shock, congestive failure, hypertension and the normal vascular system can be defined and understood in terms of intrinsic blood pressure.
