An investigation of the influence of self-consistency effects on the nuclear quadrupole antishielding factor γ_∞ in case of Rb⁺ and Cs⁺ has been made. A new procedure is adopted to calculate this effect where use has been made of the first-order perturbed functions which had been utilized earlier to calculate the conventional γ_∞. It is found that the effect of consistency is within 1% in both cases.
