The deuteron spin-relaxation times T₁, T₁ρ, T₂, and T₂* have been measured as functions of temperature in lanthanum trideuteride, LaD₃. Information is obtained both about deuteron diffusion and about the localized hopping motion of the deuterons occupying the octahedral interstitial sites in the fcc metal lattice.
