Summary Educational change and reform are tools for academic librarians to begin building learning libraries. Before beginning construction, however, librarians need answers to two practical questions: What does an ideal learning-centered approach to information literacy entail? Are model programs in place? Searching for those answers will prepare librarians to ride the wave of change from the periphery of the college experience into the heart of students' learning activities.
