Both tolerance limits and sampling plans are discussed where percentages p/2 in each of the tails of the normal distribution are to be controlled. Tables of constants are given which have been accurately computed using the new techniques developed in the paper. These results are set up from the consumer's viewpoint, but can easily be extended to the producer's viewpoint. Programs on the CDC-1604 computer are available to extend the tables for any special applications not already covered.
