If two or more chemicals that disrupt intraspecific premating (pheromonal) communication can be evaporated in the same area, pheromonal communication might be simultaneously disrupted among several pest insects. Such an approach could theoretically be used alone or in combination with more conventional methods in broad-spectrum insect control programs for pastures, field and vegetable crops, orchards, and forests.
