Optical Synthesis of Different Wavefronts and Production of a Schmidt Plate

Optical synthesis of the profiles of revolution with special reference to the Schmidt plate are discussed. The exposure at an elementary annular zone of the phase or amplitude filter in question is given by rotating a luminous spot by a revolving prism. The different zones of the plate are brought under exposure by shifting the prism longitudinally. A general algorithm is developed to calculate the parameters necessary to generate different profiles. Experimental results are reported.
