Floor of the English Channel

CHANNEL SIR,-During the last three years a programme of research has been carried out to obtain further data regarding the solid rocks forming the floor of the English Channel.At the present time three areas have been investigated and further work is being planned.The research is being carried out in conjunction with the Department of Geophysics of Cambridge University, which has been responsible for the construction of the necessary apparatus under the direction of Mr. M.
