Here, we show an unprecedented approach to luminescent T sensing, which relies on highly temperature dependent nonresonant 1064 nm NIR photoexcitation and a 890 nm anti-Stokes avalanche-like NIR emission from Nd ³⁺ doped nanoparticles.
