The interaction of the non-Kramers Tb 3+ ions at tetragonal sites in CaF 2 with the second and third fluorine shells has been studied by ENDOR. Displacements of the Tb 3+ and F - ions near a paramagnetic centre and interstitial F - have been evaluated.
