Interaction of Propanil with Insecticides Applied as Seed Treatments on Rice

Abstract

Propanil (3, 4-dichloropropionanilide), an herbicide, interacted with certain carbamate and phosphate insecticides as seed treatments on rice. Chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides used as seed treatments did not interact with propanil. The interactions were characterized by leaf burn on seedling rice and subsequent yield loss.
