Tomato yellow top virus (TYTV) was isolated from outdoor and glasshouse tomatoes ( Lycopersicon lycopersicum (L.) Karsten ex Farwell) near Lyttelton, New Zealand. The virus was purified and an antiserum produced. Partially purified virus reacted strongly in gel‐diffusion tests with an antiserum to TYTV prepared in Australia and with antisera to Dutch and Canadian isolates of potato leaf roll virus.
