The conditions for preparing selective surfaces by combinations of absorber-reflector tandems are discussed. The optical constants for Fe 2 O 3 , Cr 2 O 3 , CuO and Cu 2 O have been measured and the possibility of preparing selective surfaces based on these, and some related oxides, on steel- and copper-substrates has been investigated.
