THIS is a report of multiple cases of congenital heart disease occurring in three families that have been studied at the Heart Station of the Boston City Hospital. The 9 cases in these families were among a total of 43 persons with congenital heart disease seen between February, 1955, and February, 1958.The three families reported here contain 113 members. We have had the opportunity to examine 43 of these clinically. Electrocardiograms were taken in all those examined, and, when indicated, the evaluation included phonocardiograms, cardiac fluoroscopy and chest roentgenograms.
