The vicinal 3 J ( C H 3 CC H ) coupling constants were determined for a number of propylene derivatives and compared with the 3 J ( H CC H ) couplings of the corresponding ethylenes. A linear regression analysis yielded the correlation 3 J (CH) = 0.46 × 3 J (HH)+1.58 Hz, the correlation coefficient being 0.956.
