Treatment of di-t-butyl ketone with excess H3 MNMe3 , M = Al or Ga, yields dimeric [H2 M{μ-OC(H)But 2 }]2 which for M = A1 association prevails, in the solid via two symmetrical bridging hydrides between single aluminium centers from different dimers
