The total neutron cross sections of beryllium, aluminium, sulphur and lead have been measured in the range of energies from 2 MeV. to 4 MeV. and from 5 MeV. to 6 MeV. by a transmission experiment. Resonances were observed in all four elements. The results obtained for lead and for beryllium are compared with those expected according to the one-body theory for light nuclei.
