A survey is given of selected properties of polar, ionic and metallic fluids in critical and supercritical regions. New experimental data of the following properties and phenomena in this range are presented and discussed: The static dielectric constant of water, the infrared and Raman spectra of water, ion dissociation of water and ammonia, electrolytic conductance of supercritical bismuth trichloride, electronic conductance and metal‐nonmetal transition in dense gaseous metals.
