SUMMARY Cavett, Dring & Knight (1965) identified arginine negative, group N streptococci isolahd from deep‐frozen peas after thawing as Streptococcus cremoria. Three further isolates of such organisms have been studied in detail and although having certain properties in common with Strep. cremoris, they have others which exclude them from this species and also from other species of group N streptococci so far described. The original streptococci were probably wrongly designated.
