This work reports the preparation of magnetically recyclable cuprous oxide supported on iron oxide (Cu 2 O‐Fe 3 O 4 ) nanocomposites. The prepared Cu 2 O‐Fe 3 O 4 nanocomposites was used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of quinazolines using 2‐bromobenzaldehydes ( 1 a ) with benzylamines ( 2 b ) and sodium azide in greener solvent ethylene glycol (EG) under ligand free condition. The prepared nanocomposites was examined using different characterization techniques such as X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission gun‐scanning electron microscopy (FEG‐SEM), energy‐dispersion X‐ray (EDX), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), thermogravimetry (TGA) and Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR). The Cu 2 O‐Fe 3 O 4 nanocatalyst could be recycled upto six time without any loss of in its catalytic activity.
