A solid-state dye-sensitized solar cell was fabricated using in situ polymerized carboxylated diacetylene for hole transporting. Our preliminary experiments showed a short-circuit current density of 4.25 mA/cm2 and an efficiency of 0.89%. These proof-of-concept results are believed to be some of the highest reported for polymeric hole transporting material based devices.
