The amount of gas adsorbed on the surface of solids is one of the fundamental data of adsorption studies. The amount adsorbed can be determined either from pressure changes within a certain constant volume–volumetric determination–or more directly from the change of weight of a solid substance (adsorbent)–weight determination–in a static or flow apparatus.
