This paper describes the results of comparative test s of four brands of chemical glassware: Tamworth-Glasbake, Kimble No. N51a, chemical Pyrex, and Vycor (Corning Glass Works' 96-percent silica glass N o. 790) . The wares were compared with respect to resistance to acid, alkaline, and nearly neutral reagents, and resistance to thermal and mechanical shock. The chemical composition and the thermal expansivity of each glass were also determined.
