Amazonian islands are formed through sedimentation, tidal dynamics, and ecological succession, and support exceptionally high levels of biodiversity. These islands are important at local, regional, and global scales because of their ecological and socioeconomic significance and are recognized as biodiversity hotspots and critical areas for climate resilience. To date, no comprehensive scientometric synthesis has examined publication trends, research themes, and the geographical distribution of research on Amazonian islands. . Therefore, this study conducted a scientometric analysis using the Scopus and Web of Science databases. . This review synthesizes and the current understanding of the spatial distribution of,research, and ecological processes, and their importance in Amazonian islands, while identifying knowledge gaps and research priorities A total of 313 publications were identified, and with an annual growth rate of 8.3%. Approximately 85% of the papers involved Brazilian affiliations, with the University of São Paulo contributing 37% of the total output. Approximately 40% of all publications were classified as being related to are Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 (Climate Action). These findings provide an overview of current research trends and may inform future research priorities and discussions related to conservation planning and the sustainable management of Amazonian Island ecosystems under increasing environmental and anthropogenic pressures.
