Part II: Experimental Studies

Seventeen model hybrid yarns, whose geometries conform with the major as sumptions for the mathematical developments of this study (Part I), were prepared and tested. The parameters of the theoretical stress-strain curves for numerical cal culation were determined from the model yam geometry and the mechanical properties of component filaments measured. The results show that the whole range of stress- strain curves, including failure for hybrid yam types studied, is theoretically predictable with reasonable accuracy.
