The magnetic susceptibility of chromium has been measured from -195^∘{}C to 1440^∘{}C and is found to increase from 3.42×{}10^-6 to approximately 4.30×{}10^-6 emu per gram at the highest temperature. A transition is recorded in the region of 1400^∘{}C marked by a sharp increase in susceptibility and a temperature hysteresis.
