First-order many-body theory has been used to calculate correlation and coherence parameters for the electron impact excitation of the 3 1 P 1 and 3 3 P 1 and states of neon. Both LS-coupled and spin-orbit-coupled results are reported for the 3 1 P 1 state. Calculations were completed for E=20, 30, 40, 50, 80, 100 and 120 eV electron impact energies. Theoretical results are compared with those that were obtained from electron-photon coincidence measurements.
